Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2013: Day Three

3 Apr

I knew today would be rough, as I had to wake up at 5:30 to get ready to go to work earlier than usual. Luckily, I was only there for a few hours and thus would have the rest of the day to write… except I’m dead tired and unmotivated and extremely distracted by lots of random stuff that I’ll list below. When I get this distracted I know it’s time to pull out Write or Die, which I did today to great effect.

How many words did you write today? 1413
How long did it take you to write them? 12:00 – 2:28
How many Facebook breaks did you take?  III
How many characters have you killed off to date? 0!
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? II
Have you stopped using contractions yet? Nope.
What was today’s reward for finishing word count? Making (and eating!) a pudding pie.
Cups of Tea: 0, though I might go have one now I’ve finished.
How any pieces of chocolate were consumed? 0
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 6033
Words to Goal: 43,967
Days Remaining: 27

I didn’t include Write or Die in today’s survey because I thought my sessions could be better presented like this!

Write Or Die Session #1:
519 words in 15 minutes
Normal; strict; 500 word goal

My distractions today included work, Facebook, the need for food, watching two daily vlogs, and Cal’s random appearances in the room (which was kind of cute, so you know, not really blaming him there). Also, thinking I heard the mailman’s bike and poking my head out the window to see if it was. We’re waiting for two letters–one, confirmation of my bridging visa, and two, a few police checks to turn in with my partner visa so the government knows I’m not a criminal.

Anyway. I digress. Today I wrote the second half of chapter one / chapter two. I can’t wait for tomorrow, when I finally introduce two of the other main characters, which should make me more interested in the whole thing. Spent most of my time describing the castle, dresses, and make-up, which isn’t entirely my style but let’s go with it.
