Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2013: Day Eight

8 Apr

Well, this is late. I was writing in our room again and it doesn’t get very good internet reception. Then Cal came in and asked if I wanted to watch the first Harry Potter movie, and what could I say but yes? Anyway, long story short, I completely fell asleep during the movie and even if I had woken up, the internet wasn’t working well enough for me to get a post up anyway.

Yesterday I wrote a chapter that was sort of a “bridging” chapter between two different events (and by yesterday, I mean “today…”). I’ll probably completely rewrite it in the future, but it got information across, even if it seemed a bit info-dumpy to me. The next chapter I have a rough outline for, so it should be more interesting and easier to write (emphasis on should be). At the same time, I made the mistake of changing The Prince’s personality in the first chapter, which could present some difficulties here. I might just try to forget the first chapter and write it how it should be written. We’ll see.

Stats for the day:

How many words did you write today? 1802
How long did it take you to write them? I have no idea. Hour and a half, maybe?
How many Facebook breaks did you take?  Two.
How many characters have you killed off to date? 0!
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? None today.
Have you stopped using contractions yet? Nope.
What was today’s reward for finishing word count? Being able to watch Game of Thrones! I specifically told myself I could not watch it until I finished, and I made good on the promise. (People in the US are probably like, “Why were you watching it on a Monday anyway?” Because time moves faster here. That is all.)
Cups of Tea: 1
How any pieces of chocolate were consumed? None, sadly. I would have liked some. I had an apple?
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 13837
Words to Goal: 36163
Days Remaining: 22

As always, feel free to comment below with your own answers to this survey (or post it on your own blog!) 🙂
