Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2013: Day Twelve

12 Apr

One of today’s biggest challenges was writing a letter from an emperor to a king which needed to sound polite and threatening at the same time. I could only think of one similar instance of this that I’d actually read (in Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith) and I think I’m going to need to read more examples before I can do the thing properly. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m wondering if there are many letters in A Song of Ice and Fire, which I haven’t actually read despite loving the TV show (bad, I know). But  if you can think of an instance where something is sweetly polite with undertones of “one wrong move and you’re dead” I’d love to hear them!

How many words did you write today? 1272
How long did it take you to write them? About two hours.
How many Facebook breaks did you take?  I have no idea… a lot.
How many characters have you killed off to date? 0 still… I need to get on this.
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? Two.
Have you stopped using contractions yet? Nope.
What was today’s reward for finishing word count? Watching a few daily vlogs.
Cups of Tea: o
How any pieces of chocolate were consumed? None, but we did order pizza and I ate a lot of it, so I consider this a bit of a treat.
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 20,335
Words to Goal: 29,665
Days Remaining: 18

As always, feel free to comment below with your own answers to this survey (or post it on your own blog!) 🙂
