Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2013: Day Nineteen

19 Apr

Most unproductive day ever. Today is one of those days where it was hard to write. Luckily, my friend wrote a very motivational blog post about the whole thing just when I needed it most. I’d like to thank her for my ability to even reach word count today! Unfortunately, due to the wavering due dates of other projects, I did not do any other writing that I should have done. That will be tomorrow’s goal. I might even make them a first priority with NaNo as my reward. Usually I do NaNo first because it’s the “fun” thing that’s easier than the others and I prefer to get easy stuff out of the way so that I don’t have it hanging over my head stressing me out while I’m working on the hard stuff.

Anyway, today was not easy. But like Gwen said, it did move me forward. It was a very info-dumpy sort of day, but at the very end I had an idea for an edit in which all is revealed through tea leaves, so that should be an interesting rewrite when April is over.

How many words did you write today? 1656
How long did it take you to write them? Four hours or so, with breaks.
How many Facebook breaks did you take?  Too many.
How many characters have you killed off to date? None today!
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? A handful. I sorely regret their deaths.
Have you stopped using contractions yet? Nope.
What was today’s reward for finishing word count? Being productive on other projects which didn’t happen.
Cups of Tea: None.
How many pieces of chocolate were consumed? 2 sherbet powders and a handful of “koala poo” (chocolate covered raisins)
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 31,693
Words to Goal: 18,307
Days Remaining: 11

As always, feel free to comment below with your own answers to this survey (or post it on your own blog!) 🙂

Funny 😀 Taking on a challenge like NaNoWriMo is a challenge in itself – and 30k words is impressive! Even if it’s a bad day, think of all you’re accomplishing in the big picture. Congrats

Thanks!! Definitely trying to see it that way. The next bit I’m planning to write should be a bit easier. Are you doing NaNo?

I haven’t tried it yet. Thinking about taking the plunge in July. I just don’t know if I have your courage.

I’m glad that my blog post helped! It was definitely something I needed yesterday too…

Tea leaves! (Can’t… resist….) “You’re going to suffer… but you’re going to be happy about it.”

I should include an allusion to that just for kicks! 😉

        Yes. Yes, you should. 🙂
