Camp NaNoWriMo, April 2013: Day Twenty-One

21 Apr

Write or Die Session #1:
818 words in 13 minutes (wish I could do this every day!)
Normal, strict, 500-word goal.

Write or Die Session #2:
503 words in 10 minutes
Normal, strict, 500-word goal.

I didn’t start writing until after seven today, despite having all day to do nothing but. Ah, well–no harm done. As you can see from the above Write or Die sessions, it barely took me any time at all! I wrote the remaining 300 words in another ten minutes (after a lengthy break), so it took me just over half an hour all up. Crazy, huh? Imagine if I could keep up that pace eight hours a day–I’d be done with a novel in about two!

My only problem with today is that I’ve lost track of where the story is going, probably because I was writing so fast to make up for lost time. It might be one of those times when I have to make a note to ignore something in the section I just wrote while I move on to the next section. Right now, I’m not sure if I want the Prince to be alive or dead, knowledgeable about the situation or ignorant. Meanwhile, MC is stuck in a cellar wedged between a sack of flour and a bunch of potatoes and Prince’s Best Friend is trying to take the crown. I don’t even know.

In other news, I might have another freelance bite, so we’ll see how this goes.

How many words did you write today? 1613
How long did it take you to write them? Just over half an hour. I think that’s a record for me!
How many Facebook breaks did you take?  One in between Session #1 and Session #2, and another to finish it off.
How many characters have you killed off to date? None today!
How many NaNoWriMo Angels have you murdered? None today, I was really good.
Have you stopped using contractions yet? Nope.
What was today’s reward for finishing word count? Reading. I’ve been neglecting my book (and thus my book reading goal!)
Cups of Tea: None.
How many pieces of chocolate were consumed? None, actually.
Total NaNoWriMo Word Count So Far: 35,043
Words to Goal: 14,957
Days Remaining: 9 (single digits!)

As always, feel free to comment below with your own answers to this survey (or post it on your own blog!) 🙂
